Forecaster of Produced Photovoltaic Energy

Software SolEnFor (Solar Energy Forecaster) provides users with power forecasts generated by photovoltaic power plants (PV). Energy forecasts can be categorized into two groups – short term and long term forecasts.

Short term forecasts contain prediction of produced PV energy for next few days (typically next three days). Length of the forecasts depends on the availability of solar irradiation provided by common available meteorological data sources (e.g. Norwegian meteorological institute). Short term forecast is typically utilized by owner of PV power plant, who need PV production forecast for next days (e.g. for planning of load commitment).

On the other hand, long term PV production forecasts is dedicated on long term prediction horizon (typically year). Based on the geographical location and PV power plant parameters, the energy production in particular months of year is forecasted. This long term forecast can be used in the planning of new renewable energy sources installations.
