Abstrakt
The paper deals with a modification of Interpolating Controller for the problem of control to a specified setpoint. First, the constrained Optimal Control Problem (OCP) to the constant setpoint is formulated. This problem is hard to solve analytically, thus two distinct methodologies for a suboptimal solution to the problem are introduced. The first one is called model predictive control (MPC) and it is a standard methodology, which deals with the OCP on a shorter receding horizon. The second one is Interpolating Control (IC) which is based on an interpolation of two control laws with different properties. The standard form of IC is intended for the control to the state space origin only. It employs the optimal LQ controller for the unconstrained case and the vertex control (VC) for the constrained case. This paper provides a presentation of an IC modification that can be employed to the control to the constant setpoint. The quality of the presented IC modification will be compared with the MPC using an example.
