Abstract

This paper introduces several multi-agent systems for decision support in industrial informatics: ExPlanTech for intra-enterprise production planning, ExtraPlanT for extra-enterprise cooperation and supply chain management and e-Cat for competency management among a group of cooperating companies. The systems are equipped with an multimedia external access that allows to access them whenever and wherever the user needs. One possibility of the extra-enterprise access is a telephony interface, built on a VoiceXML technology. Two techniques have been developed to overcome the main disadvantages of speech interfaces: Two-level Communication Model and a dynamic selection of prompt wording.
