Abstract

In industrial practice, major amount (more than 90%) of processes has monotone step response from their physical principal. A lot of control algorithms are used to control such processes (PID, predictive, …). Also a lot of heuristic tuning algorithms appeared in compact controllers. They are usually not based on some exact mathematical formulation. Therefore, they are neither robust nor reliable. Model set approach is an ideal tool for exact mathematical formulation and solution of controller tuning problem for typical industrial processes. In this paper, the previous research results in this field are summarized and extended. Also the areas of usage are specified.
