Abstract
The paper discusses Clark’s conception of extended mind and critically analyses his four criterions of externalised cognitive functions. On the basis of the interdisciplinary research in the fields of AI and cognitive science it proposes a redefinition of these criterions. The theoretical claims are supported by Gazzaniga’s experiments with split-brain phenomena and our development of AI-based speech prosthetics for laryngectomy patients.
