Abstract

The paper addresses the problem of generalized moments identification by the expansion of the process transfer function to the series of orthogonal Laguerre polynomials. The classical prediction error methods with least squares types of identification criteria are employed for this purpose. In the second part of the paper, another approach to the generalized moments identification, called deterministic identification method, is introduced. It is shown that the developed identification procedures are suitable for consequent robust PID controller design by the method of robustness regions.
