Abstract
A method for identifying of the loose parts impact location using time-frequency analysis is described in this paper. In the source location problem the arrival times of the sound waves in the sensor positions and especially their time differences are used. This paper discusses a range of techniques in time and time-frequency domain which are applied to pre-processing of the signal and to obtain the wave arrival times. Within the frame of this work the laboratory experiments were carried out. A set of accelerometers was used for sensing of the stress waves propagating in the plate and the range of loose part impacts was simulated by the hits onto the metallic plate using an instrumented hammer with a built-in force transducer. The measured experimental signals are finally analysed with Kalman filter source location algorithm and comparison of the source location outputs is performed.
