Abstract

The acoustic front-end module extracts the information necessary for the subsequent recognition from an input speech signal. Two state-of-the-art methods of feature extraction are implemeted - Perceptual Linear Prediction (PLP) and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC). The exact setting (such as the number critical bands or the number of computed coefficients) of both algorithms can be controlled using a configuration file.
