Abstract

Localization of tumors is a frequent task of a radiologist. For example it can be a necessary step of preoperative examination which?s result gives the radiologist information what part of liver parenchyma should be removed and if the remaining liver volume is sufficient for survival of a patient. In presented work an automatic ethod for tumors localization from CT image data is presented. Described approach is based on a n-dimensional segmentation method called Grow-cut, which was fully automated. By this method both hyperdense and hypodense tumors are localized, the later ones are then tested on presence of hyperdense capsule.
