Abstract
The paper deals with a new process identification method for automatic tuning of industrial controllers. The aim of this method is to provide a suitable model set for robust controller design based on a simple identification experiment. The model uncertainty is described by a value set in the complex plane. The boundary of the value set is generated by so called extreme transfer functions that are sufficient for frequency domain design of a robust controller. Identification experiments based on different testing inputs are described to provide the parameterization of all extreme transfer function of the process.
