Abstract

The multiple model approach to fault detection is treated in this paper. This approach is based on the set of models of possible faults. The goal is to find the best fitting model in the model set and simultaneously test the a priori assumptions concerning the set of models. Therefore, the validity of the best fitting model should be independently tested.
