Abstract

In this paper a novel approach to the step response based design of a robust controller is presented. Instead of a test batch the exactly defined model set containing an infinite number of step responses restricted by a tolerance funnel and some smooth condition is used. More specifically, the step responses from the model set have to pass through some tolerance intervals at a few given time moments. Out of this time moments they are approximated by spline polynomials of the selected order. The main object of this paper is to develop a robust design procedure which is able to cope with this natural model set.
