Abstract

The purpose of this report is to describe the Nonlinear Filtering Toolbox (NFT) as a software package developed for solving discrete nonlinear filtering problem. The package represents an easy-to-use instrument for model and estimator design which is based on MATLAB environment. The NFT allows to define a system model, to simulate it, to choose an estimator, estimate state of the model and also to combine the estimator with a controller. The package contains variety of state estimators either for linear Gaussian models or for nonlinear non-Gaussian models. Thus it can be used for state estimation of generally nonlinear and non-Gaussian models and also for problems like tracking time-varying parameters, fault detection, hypothesis testing and so on.
