Abstract

This paper deals with specific realization of the derivative filter recently described in Večerek, Schlegel (2005). The purpose is to develop a simple and reliable algorithm, that can be easily implemented to almost any compact controller. In the original paper the family of continuous n-th order filters are presented that can be used to estimate time derivatives of all orders from 0 to (n-1). These filters are not possible to implement for higher order in direct forms because of numerical and rounding-off errors. The method for decreasing these numerical errors based on decomposition into partial fraction is presented and detail algorithm for implementation is provided.
